Joseph Te Puni is the CEO and Founder of Everything Suarve (ESuarve), a not-for-profit supporting at-risk youth on the Gold Coast through early intervention programs for 16 to 24 year olds.
When the organisation was still in its early stages, Joseph connected with Andrew Bingley, Jason Croston and Danielle Stewart at SRJ Walker Wayland, who initially stepped in with pro bono support. As he recalls, “For an organisation that was just getting off the ground and had $0 in the bank, it was music to my ears.”
With no prior business experience, Joseph was unprepared when the first audit was required. “We had no accountants, no receipt filing system, no real structure. I seriously was panicking.” SRJ Walker Wayland worked closely with Joseph to navigate the process, providing clarity and reassurance at a critical time.
“Without that advice, I would have said, ‘This is too hard, pack it up.’ It was the professionalism and guidance that made the difference.” With that support, ESuarve built strong foundations and gained confidence in running the financial aspect of the organisation. “We probably wouldn’t be here today without the feedback and advice.”
Looking ahead, ESuarve is focused on expanding its impact through a wellbeing retreat centre and new technology initiatives.
“Every year, the feedback we receive is validation that our organisation is heading in the right way. They give us foresight and lessons before things even happen, which allows us to be more prepared for the future. It’s been a godsend to have the team on our side,” says Joseph.
With SRJ Walker Wayland’s ongoing support, ESuarve is well positioned to continue growing and creating real change in the community.
